Job summary

MetroHealth is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Step Down Unit, 7 West, at MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick. The RN will care for patients with CHF, COPD, DKA, and sepsis, using advanced monitoring tech and bedside procedures. 14 beds, rotating weekends and holidays, with a focus on patient-centered care.

The role requires Ohio RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and relevant RN experience for PRN shifts; the unit emphasizes teamwork, critical thinking, and efficient care delivery.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

Responsibilities

• Knows EKG interpretation and patient monitoring.
• Performs central line care.
• Administers high-flow oxygen and rescue bi-pap as needed.
• Assists with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies).
• Exhibits critical thinking, delegation, and time management within a busy unit.
