Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Step Down Unit, 7 West, at the MetroHealth Main Campus. The role involves caring for patients with acute conditions such as CHF, COPD, DKA and sepsis, utilizing EKG interpretation, central line care, and advanced respiratory support, while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates hold Ohio RN licensure, BLS/ACLS certifications, and possess strong critical thinking, delegation and time management skills to ensure

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the 7 West Critical Care Step Down Unit.
• Perform and interpret EKGs, monitor telemetry, and respond to changes in patient status.
• Assist with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies) as needed.
• Collaborate with PCNAs, nurse interns, Providers, PT, OT and other team members.
• Maintain patient safety through effective time management and critical thinking.
