Job summary

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program and licensed in NC.
  • RRT or equivalent credentials required; bachelor’s preferred.
  • CPR/BLS required with advanced certifications per facility policy.

Responsibilities

  • Performs direct respiratory care per physician orders and approved protocols.
  • Manages oxygen delivery and ventilator support; consults physicians on therapy effectiveness.
  • Documents therapy results and communicates with the healthcare team.
  • Initiates and monitors mechanical and non-invasive ventilation, adapting plans as needed.
  • Performs blood sampling analysis and interprets results for patient care.
  • Maintains respiratory care equipment and adheres to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Works independently across patient care areas and supports coworkers as needed.
  • Completes annual proficiency evaluations and regulatory requirements.
