Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy with required credentialing.
• Associate's degree in respiratory therapy required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must hold NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and state license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications per facility.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and equipment and conducts prescribed therapies.
• Administers procedures, monitors therapy, and performs diagnostic tasks per policy.
• Initiates and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilation; monitors patient status.
• Evaluates therapies with clinical judgment and communicates care plans and education needs.
• Documents therapy results and shares information with the healthcare team.
• Performs emergency respiratory care and analyzes blood samples to guide treatment.
• Works independently across patient care areas; proficient in EMR and RRD interfaces.
• Adheres to safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements; weekly proficiency reviews.
