Job summary

Air Methods CBS is seeking a seasoned Registered Nurse to join its clinical flight teams. You will provide high-quality care during transport, perform assessments, triage, and interventions, and ensure patient safety from pickup to delivery to the receiving facility.

This role requires a minimum of three years in critical care or emergency nursing, a state nursing license, and flight or pre-hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor's degree in health-related field preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years of recent critical care/emergency nursing in last 5 years.
• Pre-hospital experience preferred.
• Flight experience 1 year full-time required.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care within scope of practice and maintains thorough patient care documentation.
• Maintain and demonstrate competency in clinical knowledge and skills through ongoing experiences; keep licensure, certifications, and training current.
• Equipment and Aircraft Management: proficiency with Air Methods CBS equipment; report failures and coordinate repairs; keep supplies onboard.
• Flight Operations and Safety: participate in pre-mission briefings/debriefings; assist pilot with radio, navigation, and observations; comply with safety standards.
• Serves as a flight resource to neonatal/pediatric patients and performs advanced skills as approved.
• Community Engagement: participate in patient follow-up and outreach activities.
• Training and Development: serve as a preceptor and assist in orientation.
• Participates in meetings and committees; contributes to research and publishing opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned.
