Job summary

Air Methods Corporation is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our clinical flight crew in support of critical care transport operations. You will provide high-quality patient care, perform assessments, triage, and treatment in accordance with CBS medical directives, and document care from start to finish.

You will participate in pre-mission briefings, uphold safety standards, and assist pilots as needed.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; RN license required.
  • Minimum three years of recent critical care/emergency nursing experience within the last five years.
  • Flight experience is not required but considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality critical care during transport and assess/triage patients per CBS guidelines.
  • Maintain thorough patient care documentation from initial contact through handoff.
  • Stay current with licensure, certifications, continuing education, and safety training, including HIPAA.
  • Operate equipment safely and report any equipment failures for repair.
  • Participate in pre-mission briefings/debriefings and assist pilots as needed.
  • Support neonatal/pediatric transports and engage in outreach and education activities.
  • Orient and mentor new staff and participate in meetings and committees as assigned.
  • Comply with safety standards to protect patients, staff, and equipment.
