Job summary

Air Methods CBS is seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Nurse to join our flight team in New Mexico. You will provide high-quality critical care during transport, perform assessments, and coordinate with the flight crew to ensure safety and rapid response.

The role requires RN licensure with 3+ years of recent critical care experience; flight experience is a plus and education options include support for ongoing education. Expect travel and on-call duties in a high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field preferred but not required.
• Minimum three (3) years of recent critical care/emergency nursing experience within the last five years or as required by state/local EMS regulations.
• Pre-hospital experience preferred.
• Flight experience is not required but is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care during transport, including assessment, triage, and treatment.
• Maintain thorough patient care documentation from initial contact to handoff.
• Ensure equipment is functional and supplies are onboard for rapid response.
• Participate in pre-mission briefings, liftoff checklists, and radio/navigation tasks as needed.
• Support neonatal/pediatric transports and follow-up with referring institutions.
