Job summary

New England Donor Services is seeking an experienced ICU RN, Critical Care RN, Trauma Nurse or Critical Care Respiratory Therapist to join our team as a Donation Coordinator. You will respond on-site to donor referrals, evaluate donors, manage donor care, allocate organs, and recover organs in collaboration with hospital staff and families.

You will educate hospital staff on the donation process, obtain family consent, and work with surgical teams to optimize organs for transplantation.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years clinical experience/critical care experience and a Bachelor’s Degree preferred CPTC Certification a plus
• Annual influenza vaccination is required for employees who work in a clinical or healthcare environment outside of NEDS facilities.
• Ideal candidates lives within an hour of New Haven, CT.

Responsibilities

• Respond on-site to organ donor referrals to provide clinical expertise in donor evaluation, donor management, organ allocation and organ recovery.
• Educate hospital staff on the donation process and obtain consent for donation with donor families.
• Coordinate with multiple surgical teams and critical care staff to optimize organs for transplantation.
• Travel across New England for duties and responsibilities; on-call shifts and trainings.
