Job summary

CMHA-CEI is seeking a qualified mental health professional for AMHS/Crisis Services in Lansing, MI. The role involves responding to crisis lines, performing crisis interventions, teaching coping skills, and coordinating with police and other providers.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in social work or psychology and has at least one year of relevant experience; computer proficiency is required. This is a part-time position with hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
• Minimum of one year of professional experience working with persons with mental illness.
• Ability to operate a computer and gain proficiency in CMHA-CEI’s computer systems, including Smart Care and Microsoft Word.

Responsibilities

• Answer crisis lines and conduct crisis intervention encounters with individuals on the phone.
• Provide brief Solution Focused Therapy, coping skills teaching, de-escalation, and problem-solving assistance.
• Document contacts and input data into the electronic records system; recommend referrals and assist with hospital referrals/placements as needed.
