Job summary

CMHA-CEI in Lansing, MI seeks a Crisis Services Aide to support adults and children in acute mental health crises, working with police and EMTs, and ensuring a secure, therapeutic environment.

You will assist therapists, document activities, and help carry out treatment plans under supervision. Shifts include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays; relief positions are 0-19 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with consumers in mental health crisis preferred (min 6 months).
• Ability to de-escalate crisis and problem-solve in stressful situations.
• Strong written and verbal communication; extensive documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive atmosphere for adults and children in acute mental health crisis.
• Work with police and EMTs; respond to crisis situations and monitor activity.
• Assist therapists; interact with consumers in short-term crisis intervention.
• Maintain a secure environment and share information with CMHA-CEI therapists.
• Carry out program sub-unit activities per CMHA-CEI policies.
