Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field.
• Minimum one year of professional experience working with persons with mental illness.
• Ability to operate a computer and use CMHA-CEI systems (Smart Care, Microsoft Word).
• Valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Answer crisis phone lines and conduct crisis intervention with individuals.
• Provide brief Solution Focused Therapy and teach coping skills.
• De-escalate situations and assist with problem-solving and referrals.
• Coordinate with police, 911 and other providers; document contacts and data entry.
• Assist with hospital referrals/placements and maintain electronic records.
