Job summary

The Crisis Worker position at Your Support Services Network (YSSN) is part of the Crisis and Safe Bed Program, a temporary residential service in Thornhill. The role supports individuals in crisis through intake, de-escalation, counseling, and connecting them with community resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, social work, occupational therapy or a relevant field.
• Regulated Health professional (Registered Social Worker) preferred.
• Experience with mental health and addictions issues, complex needs, and crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

• Screening and assessing incoming referrals for program eligibility.
• Completing intake and discharge processes and protocols.
• Providing crisis support and counselling.
• Assisting with daily living skills (cooking, hygiene) as needed.
• Supporting medication use per policy.
• Co-developing goals with clients and planning actions.
• Liaising with community services and police for care planning.
