Job summary

YSS is seeking a CARE (Crisis, Assistance, Response, Engagement) Team Specialist to maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment for youth and young adults across residential and crisis services on campus. You will respond to crises, support de-escalation, and work with staff to address safety concerns while promoting healing and engagement.

The role emphasizes relationship-building with youth, collaborative teamwork, and adherence to agency policies.

Qualifications

• Experience responding to crises, behavioral incidents, or emergencies in care settings.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid and crisis intervention training.
• Travel requirement for transporting clients.

Responsibilities

• Respond to crises and safety concerns across campus.
• Use trauma-informed de-escalation strategies to support youth and staff.
• Maintain a visible safety presence and coordinate responses with staff and emergency personnel.
• Build positive, therapeutic relationships with youth and provide structure and guidance.
• Assist in incident debriefings and document outcomes.
• Follow agency policies and report safety and operational concerns.
