Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network seeks a mental health professional to provide comprehensive crisis intervention, coordinating admission/referral for patients and families with psychiatric needs.

The role supports other hospital services in accessing Behavioral Health Services. The position involves intake assessments, interdepartmental collaboration, adherence to mental health regulations, and potential supervision of new crisis staff.

Qualifications

• Mental health professional with a minimum of one of the listed degree paths.
• Minimally, 2 years of direct clinical mental health/crisis intervention experience.
• Experience with case management/utilization review and managed care models preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments for patients in the Emergency Department or Walk In Center.
• Serve as liaison to other hospital sites and patient care areas.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Mental Health regulations and patient rights.
• Provide age-appropriate assessment and communication.
• May precept new crisis staff orientation.
• Assist in agitation management and possible restraints as needed.
• Support utilization management pre-certification processes.
• Update referral/resource information and monitor environment.
