Job summary

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center seeks an Intake Counselor to work with program staff to maintain a quality intake system and provide counseling to beneficiaries. You will interview and process applications, coordinate outside referrals, and maintain accurate records to support recovery and spiritual growth.

You will interact with ARC staff, beneficiaries, and external agencies, ensuring a caring, Christian-focused approach while contributing to work therapy and program goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• AA/BA degree in related counseling field preferred.
• Previous residential and rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility in work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a quality intake system and provide counseling to program beneficiaries.
• Interact with ARC staff, beneficiaries, and outside agencies.
• Develop and maintain referral networks to route applicants to the ARC program.
• Interview, assess, and complete required intake paperwork for applicants.
• Maintain house tracking system and update counseling and work therapy assignments.
• Assist counselors and program staff in crisis intervention as needed.
• Attend supervision and staff meetings; report and document activities.
• Coordinate with outside groups to bring educational speakers and information aligned with Christian recovery values.
• Record statistical information and submit reports promptly.
