Crimping Technician – Rochester Hills, MI

Our client, a global player in design & manufacturing for the automotive sector, is seeking a Crimping Technician to join their small, collaborative team in Rochester Hills.

Responsibilities:

The Crimping Technician will support sample production by building connector assemblies and evaluating crimp quality to ensure they meet automotive standards:

  • Build connector samples using crimped wires and housing components
  • Perform crimp evaluations and make necessary adjustments
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment used for crimping and inspection
  • Manage inventory of connector components and finished assemblies
  • Verify crimp specifications to meet USCAR-21 standards
  • Report equipment issues and contribute to release-readiness of new parts
  • Support engineering and production teams with technical guidance
  • Participate in root cause analysis for crimp-related quality concerns
  • Occasional travel for training may be required


Experience:

  • Associate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
  • 2+ years of crimping experience (or 5+ years of hands-on experience in lieu of degree)
  • Background in the Automotive sector – Connector suppliers, Harness makers, Tier 1/2
