Overview

Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, performs routine and specialized technical and clerical duties for drug distribution to patients. This role builds on the responsibilities of a Pharmacy Technician Certified I.

  • Shift Differential: 10% evening, 20% night, 15% weekend shifts when applicable.
  • Tuition Reimbursement: Up to $3,000 annually.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and triage customer service issues.
  • Prepare prescriptions and non-prescription medications and devices.
  • Stock and replenish supplies and automated dispensing machines.
  • Serve as a preceptor, assisting with staff orientation and training.
  • Communicate supply issues and discrepancies.
  • Assist in revising policies and procedures.
  • Deliver medications to beds or patient care areas.
  • Perform purchasing and billing functions.
  • Maintain training materials.
  • Inpatient Only: Prepare sterile and non-sterile drug products under supervision.
  • Outpatient Only: Process prescription orders electronically, handle third-party claims, and perform call center duties.

Qualifications

  • Ability to multitask and pay attention to detail.
  • Maintain composure under stress.
  • Strong customer service skills, including phone interactions.
  • Work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Associate's degree in health or related field plus 1 year pharmacy experience, or equivalent education and experience preferred.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with NH Board of Pharmacy.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
  • BLS Certification within 30 days if required for immunizations.
