Job description

Our client, a global leader in design & manufacturing for the automotive sector, is seeking a Crimping Technician to join their small, collaborative team in Rochester Hills.

Responsibilities

The Crimping Technician will support sample production by building connector assemblies and evaluating crimp quality to meet automotive standards:

  • Build connector samples using crimped wires and housing components
  • Perform crimp evaluations and make necessary adjustments
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment used for crimping and inspection
  • Manage inventory of connector components and finished assemblies
  • Verify crimp specifications to meet USCAR-21 standards
  • Report equipment issues and support release-readiness of new parts
  • Assist engineering and production teams with technical guidance
  • Participate in root cause analysis for crimp-related quality issues
  • Occasional travel for training may be required
Experience & Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
  • 2+ years of crimping experience, or 5+ years of hands-on experience without a degree
  • Background in the automotive sector – Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers
