Job summary

NC State University Facilities Division seeks a Crew Leader I to oversee a range of facilities projects on the Raleigh campus. You will lead hands-on maintenance tasks, coordinate daily activities, and ensure quality and safety standards are met while delivering excellent customer service to campus stakeholders.

The role operates 4:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with opportunities to impact a large campus community by maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming spaces across facilities

• Maintain inventory of supplies.

Essential Job Duties: The Crew Leader I plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming campus environment. In this position, you will provide hands on leadership and operational oversight for a variety of facilities projects, including specialized floor care, power washing, and window maintenance. You will coordinate daily work activities, guide and support team members, ensure quality and safety standards are met, and help resolve maintenance concerns in a timely manner. Key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

• Lead projects, including power washing, window washing, floor waxing, and re-lamping fixtures and dispensers
• Inspect and verify maintenance discrepancies and ensure timely resolution
• Provide support to other zones as needed, filling in for vacant positions or absenteeism
• Collect and submit timesheets within established timelines
• Perform critical duties during adverse weather or emergencies as assigned
• Complete accident reports within 24 hours of an incident
• Assist with equipment inventory and maintain monthly inventory of storage closet supplies
