Job summary

IES Communications is seeking a skilled Crew Lead for Structured Cabling to oversee on-site installation crews and ensure adherence to safety and project specifications. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong knowledge of copper and fiber cabling, and ability to read blueprints and plans.

Qualifications

Minimum five years of supervisory or managerial experience.
Minimum three years as Lead Communications Technician or similar role.
Five+ years in telecommunications or related field.
Proficient with computer and MS Office suite.
Able to travel within branch/region as needed.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise structured cabling installation crews on large-scale projects.
Provide coaching, mentorship, and training to technicians.
Enforce safety standards and conduct weekly safety meetings.
Coordinate daily activities with Project Manager or Project Lead to maintain productivity and budget.
Complete project documentation on time (timesheets, work orders, change orders, etc.).
Perform quality inspections and ensure conformance to specs and standards.
Coordinate voice and data cross-connects and MAC work.
Prepare and maintain red-lined as-built drawings.
Serve as on-site point of contact for customers and stakeholders.
Attend meetings and troubleshoot installation issues.
