Job summary

IES is seeking a Crew Lead - Structured Cabling to supervise field technicians on large-scale voice/data infrastructure projects. You will ensure timely, safe installations aligned with project specs and industry standards.

You will read blueprints, coordinate with Project Managers, and drive quality control while mentoring crews and maintaining documentation. Exigent travel to branches/regions may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of supervisory or managerial experience.
• Minimum three years as a Lead Communications Technician or similar.
• At least five years in telecommunications or related field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise structured cabling installation crews on large-scale projects.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and training to technicians.
• Enforce safety standards and conduct weekly safety meetings.
• Coordinate daily activities with the Project Manager to maintain productivity and budget.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation (timesheets, transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers).
• Perform quality inspections and ensure installations meet standards.
• Coordinate MAC moves/adds/changes for voice and data.
• Prepare red-lined as-built drawings and serve as on-site point of contact.
• Attend meetings and troubleshoot installation issues.
