Union State Bank is seeking a Credit Analyst to support risk management of the loan portfolio. The position involves gathering and analyzing credit information on current and potential borrowers, evaluating repayment capacity, and assisting loan officers in preparing loan requests.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate conclusions clearly to lenders and management.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in finance, accounting, or economics.
• Formal credit training or prior experience analyzing commercial, agricultural, consumer, or real estate credits preferred but not required.
• Understanding of banking/lending regulations, with 2 years banking experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate risk assessments on various loan types from simple to complex.
• Analyze financial information including tax returns, cash flow statements, inventories, and other statements for various entities.
• Assess borrower repayment capacity including cash flow, liquidity, leverage, and collateral.
• Prepare clear, concise credit memoranda for loan committee and board reviews.
• Monitor assigned credits for deteriorating trends and communicate concerns to management.
• Assist loan officers in writing loan requests and supporting documents.
• Stay up-to-date with lending regulations and bank policies.
