Job summary

Valley National Bank is seeking a detail-oriented professional to support their Relationship Manager in managing customer portfolios and credit processes in New Jersey. The role involves monitoring credit quality, preparing credit packages for approvals, and handling loan closings and follow-up on customer requests.

The candidate will ensure timely renewals of lines of credit, respond to customer needs, and maintain compliant credit files and BSA/EDD information.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Relationship Manager with customer portfolios and follow up on requests
• Monitor and report changes in credit quality for assigned credits
• Prepare credit approval packages and present to the required level of credit authority
• Draft and issue term sheets and commitment letters
• Attend loan closings to ensure proper closing of loans
• Track past due payments and overdrafts, and initiate follow-up actions
• Ensure lines of credit are renewed timely and negotiate renewal terms as needed
• Respond to customer needs promptly and coordinate with other departments
• Oversee customer transactions (advances, payments, wires, etc.) for accuracy
• Maintain current financial information and complete credit files on file for audits and review
• Provide routine reports as required and ensure accurate documentation
• Review legal documents for accuracy against loan requirements and agreements
• Provide timely problem resolution and monitor risk ratings of credits
• Create and maintain current BSA/EDD information and compliance watch lists
