Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking an energetic Events Coordinator for our Westwood, MA location to plan and run children's birthday parties and in-store events.

You will engage customers, assist with purchases, and deliver a fun, safe, and creative experience aligned with brand promises. Responsibilities include coordinating activities, managing communications with clients and store teams, and handling logistics such as setup, breakdown, and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and coordinating events, especially children's parties.
• Excellent people skills and ability to engage guests of all ages.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events in the Michaels store.
• Engage customers and assist with product selection and checkout.
• Instruct and supervise party activities and crafts.
• Coordinate add-ons (goody bags, balloons) per standards.
• Answer emails and calls, manage paperwork and scheduling.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety during events.
