Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator for our Mansfield, CT store. You will plan and coordinate in-store events, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes, to deliver a stress-free, fun experience for guests.

You will engage customers of all ages, demonstrate crafts, handle add-ons, and manage emails, calls, and paperwork. This role emphasizes excellent service, safety, and teamwork in a retail environment.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic personality.
• Experience working with children and children's events.
• Excellent written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities; creative problem-solving.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events in-store, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative atmosphere.
• Demonstrate and guide participants in craft projects; perform face painting and activities as needed.
• Organize event add-ons (goody bags, balloons) to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team; manage administrative tasks (emails, calls, paperwork).
• Adjust plans based on client feedback; create backup or emergency event plans.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and uphold store cleanliness and safety before/after events.
