Job summary

Michaels in West Springfield, MA is seeking an Event Coordinator to plan and coordinate multiple events within the store, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes. You will engage customers of all ages, guide them through activities, and promote our rewards program and credit options.

You’ll deliver fast, friendly checkout experiences, assist with omni-channel processes like BOPIS and SFS, and help maintain store standards while coordinating with team members.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience required.
• Experience with children's events preferred.
• Excellent people skills and communication required.
• Ability to manage multiple events and tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events (e.g., children’s birthday parties and craft classes) within the Michaels store.
• Engage with clients across all ages to create a fun, creative atmosphere.
• Demonstrate crafts and guide participants through projects; perform face painting and activities.
• Handle party add-ons (goody bags, balloons) per company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; answer emails/calls as needed.
• Adjust event plans based on client feedback and needs; create backup plans.
• Ensure client satisfaction; uphold cleanliness and safety standards; set up and break down events.
• Cross-train in Custom Framing selling and production as needed.
• Participate in daily store cleanliness: sweeping, vacuuming, etc.
