Job summary

The GIANT Company is seeking a bakery team member at our Reading, PA location. You’ll start by reviewing the shift schedule, preparing equipment, and following PPE requirements. You’ll frost and decorate cakes, take and complete bakery orders, and maintain clean work areas.

The role emphasizes food safety, accurate order handling, and adherence to company standards for attendance and appearance, including proper uniform and shoes.

Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must have valid identification.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in order to complete job duties in a satisfactory manner and to comply with company policies and safety regulations.
• Must complete the company introductory (probationary) period of 60 days.
• Must meet the ergonomic and physical requirements, as well as the physical base scores for this position.
• Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform this job.
• Must be able to perform all job functions safely.
• Must meet the company performance standards for the job including but not limited to regular attendance.
• Must agree to wear the proper assigned clothes and shoes approved for this job.
• 1 year of work experience or technical training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review the work schedule at the start of the shift, check required equipment and PPE, and prepare for duties.
• Mix frosting, color frosting, make cones, load cones, frost cakes, and decorate cakes with colored frosting.
• Take orders, complete orders, and store orders in the bakery cooler.
• Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, tools and equipment, display cases, floors and counters.
• Track and record loss.
• Demonstrate proper food safety and sanitation work habits.
