The Michaels Companies Inc. in Plano, TX is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to help plan and run in-store events, including children's birthday parties, craft classes, and other celebrations.

You will assist customers, guide shopping, and ensure a fast, friendly checkout experience. You will coordinate multiple events, communicate with clients and store teams, and handle administrative tasks—emails, calls, and paperwork—while upholding safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication.
• Must have organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Responsabilités

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
• Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans and events based on client’s feedback and needs.
• Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
• Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards. Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
