Job summary

The Michaels Stores in Arlington, TX is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and lead store events including children’s birthday parties. You’ll deliver friendly customer service and help guests shop, while managing checkouts and store operations to ensure a fun experience.

Responsibilities include engaging clients of all ages, teaching crafts, coordinating add-ons, handling emails and calls, and maintaining safety and cleanliness. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic personality.
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.
• Must have organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
• Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans and events based on client’s feedback and needs.
• Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
• Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards. Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
• Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production.
• Participate in daily store cleanliness activities including (but not limited to) sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining cleanliness of restrooms
