Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. in Texas is seeking an Event Coordinator to plan, coordinate and facilitate in-store events, including kids birthday parties.

You will deliver friendly customer service to help guests shop and participate in crafts, while managing planning, communications, and post-event follow-up. Responsibilities include leading activities, teaching crafts, and coordinating add-ons, with emphasis on a safe, engaging, and enjoyable experience for guests of all ages.

Qualifications

• Must have experience working with children and children's events.
• Excellent people skills.
• Good communication skills (written, verbal, nonverbal).
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events in-store (e.g., children's parties and crafts).
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate crafts and lead participants in activities, including face painting.
• Coordinate add-ons (goody bags, balloons) to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; handle emails and calls.
• Set up, break down, and clean after events; ensure safety and store standards.
