Job summary

The Maine Judicial Branch seeks a Courtroom Technician to provide in‑courtroom and remote technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and AV equipment. You will work with IT staff to enable effective court proceedings and audiovisual systems.

This entry‑level role requires strong customer service, communication, and the ability to work under pressure, with training provided and statewide travel possible.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technology certification strongly preferred.
• Experience with videoconferencing and audiovisual equipment is required.
• Multi‑platform experience (Zoom, Windows, OSX, Google, Unix, Android, iOS).
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work in high stress environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support in courtrooms for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners.
• Assist with audio/video equipment setup and remote hearings.
• Diagnose and fix tier 1 computer issues; assist with help desk tickets.
• Assist in drafting and maintaining procedures; coordinate with IT staff and vendors.
• Host remote video proceedings when needed; ensure secure, reliable systems.
