Job summary

The State of Maine Judicial Branch is seeking a Courtroom Technician to provide in-court and remote technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, AV equipment, and videoconferencing. The position forwards complex issues to higher resources and requires strong customer service and communication in a high-stress environment.

Based in Androscoggin County, Lewiston District Court, responsibilities include travel statewide as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in computer science or technology certification strongly preferred; and required by 6/30/2026.
• Experience with videoconferencing and audiovisual equipment is required.
• Ability to support staff computers and devices across multiple platforms (Zoom, Windows, macOS, Google, Unix, Android, iOS).

Responsibilities

• Provide tier 1 technical support for desktops/laptops and peripherals.
• Set up and operate AV equipment and support in-court videoconferencing.
• Host remote video proceedings in special cases.
• Diagnose and fix tier 1 issues and assist the help desk.
• Maintain hardware inventory and draft procedures; write vendor work orders.
