Job summary

STATE OF MAINE JUDICIAL BRANCH seeks a Courtroom Technician to support desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and AV gear in courtrooms and courthouses across Maine. The role handles in-person and remote tech support for staff and courtroom participants, with travel statewide as needed.

The ideal candidate will have an associate degree or technology certifications, strong customer service skills, and the ability to learn quickly.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in computer science or technology certification strongly preferred.
• Experience with videoconferencing equipment and audiovisual equipment is required.
• Demonstrated experience supporting staff computers/devices; multi-platform experience is a plus.
• Ability to work in high-stress environments and manage multiple tasks.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for staff and courtroom participants in person or remotely.
• Operate and troubleshoot desktops/laptops, printers, scanners, and AV equipment.
• Host remote video proceedings when required; diagnose tier 1 issues and escalate as needed.
• Draft and document procedures; write work orders to secure services from vendors.
• Assist with IT training for employees and groups within the Judicial Branch.
