Job summary

Maine Judicial Branch seeks a Courtroom Technician to support desktop/laptop hardware, printers, audio/video gear, and remote hearings for staff and courtroom attendees. The role covers in-courtroom and regional support with occasional statewide travel.

Entry-level position with potential for independent work, strong customer service, and clear escalation processes. Training provided by state staff and approved by the Manager of Technology & Infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree or tech certs preferred.
• Experience with videoconferencing and audiovisual equipment required.
• Multi‑platform support experience (Zoom, Windows, OSX, Google, Unix, Android, iOS) is a plus.
• Must have valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person or remote technical support for staff and courtroom participants.
• Diagnose and fix tier 1 computer issues.
• Assist with help desk tickets and escalation pathways.
• Install and repair equipment in Judicial Branch facilities statewide.
• Maintain hardware inventory data and documentation of procedures.
• Assist in IT training for employees and groups.
