Job summary

Energy Transfer is seeking a corrosion maintenance specialist to apply corrosion knowledge and skills to repair, install, troubleshoot, analyze, and perform maintenance on assets within gas and liquid facilities and pipelines.

You will design cathodic protection systems, monitor regulatory compliance (OSHA, DOT, EPA), perform CP surveys, coatings evaluation, pipe-to-soil readings, and prepare reports to support safe, compliant operation across the network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Level C: 0–2 years’ relevant experience; Level B: 2–4 years; Level A: 4+ years.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite products.
• Preferred: Associate of Applied Science – Corrosion Technology; NACE CP Level II.

Responsibilities

• Under general direction, design, install, operate, inspect and maintain cathodic protection systems within assigned pipeline segments or plant facilities.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and complete required documentation (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.).
• Investigate corrosive conditions for existing or proposed facilities.
• Manage corrosion control and compliance of pipelines, stations or facilities and other buried or above-ground structures.
• Conduct pipe-to-soil potential surveys and related readings and document results.
• Evaluate protective coating condition and perform remaining strength calculations per procedures.
• Understand pipeline internal corrosion mechanisms and associated testing and calculations.
• Perform CP design calculations and soil resistivity testing.
• Generate reports on rectifiers, bonds, isolation and corrosion control.
• Inspect and maintain rectifiers, anodes, cables, bonds and test stations.
