Job summary

The South Dakota Department of Corrections is seeking a Nurse Supervisor (NM1) for the Sioux Falls state facility. This full-time, day-shift role (7:00 am–3:30 pm) will lead nursing staff, ensure policy compliance, and coordinate patient care within a secure clinical setting.

Candidates must hold a current RN license (SD Board of Nursing or eNLC) and have at least three years of full-time nursing experience. A $10,000 hiring incentive and robust state benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Current, valid Registered Nurse license (SD Board of Nursing or eNLC).
• Three (3) years of full-time patient care experience as a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Review and ensure compliance with SD DOC policies, clinical standards, and nursing protocols.
• Monitor and facilitate progressive patient care through a team approach.
• Provide patient education on self-care, treatment effects, and medication information.
• Assist HSA and CCES in maintaining clinical skills and ensuring licensure scope.
• Manage payroll, scheduling, CPC check-ins, and daily clinic operations.
