Job summary

The State of South Dakota Department of Corrections – Clinical Services in Sioux Falls seeks a Nurse Supervisor (NM1) for a day shift (7:00 am–3:30 pm). Responsibilities include leading nursing staff, ensuring policy compliance, and coordinating patient care across clinical teams.

Offering a $10,000 hiring incentive, full state benefits and SDRS retirement. Open until filled; current state employees are not eligible for the incentive.

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license from SD Board of Nursing or eNLC.
• Three (3) years of full-time RN experience.
• A Bachelor’s degree can substitute for one year of experience; a Master’s/Doctorate can substitute for two years.

Responsibilities

• Review and ensure compliance with policies, clinical standards and nursing protocols.
• Monitor and facilitate progressive patient care via team approach.
• Deliver patient education on self-care, potential treatment side effects and medications.
• Assist HSA and CCES in maintaining clinical skills of staff within licensure scope.
• Identify problems, set priorities and propose corrective actions.
• Maintain safety and security of the clinical environment and manage supplies.
• Handle payroll, scheduling, CPC check-ins, and daily clinic operations.
• Coordinate patient care with departments/vendors and other agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
