Job summary

South Dakota Department of Corrections is seeking a Nurse Supervisor (NM1) for the Jameson Prison Annex in Sioux Falls. This full-time night shift (3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.) offers strong benefits and a competitive hourly wage of $40.00 to $50.00 depending on experience.

The role requires an active RN license, 3 years of nursing experience, and the ability to supervise staff and manage clinical operations in a corrections setting. SDRS retirement benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Must hold current, valid RN license (SD Board of Nursing or eNLC enabled).
• Three (3) years of full‑time patient care experience as a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and ensures compliance with SD DOC policies, nursing standards, and documentation.
• Delivers patient education on self-care, treatment effects, and medications.
• Assists HSA and CCES in maintaining clinical skills and staffing.
• Oversees payroll, scheduling, CPC check-ins, and shift coverage; coordinates clinic operations.
• Maintains unit cleanliness and ensures stock levels of medical supplies and equipment.
