State of South Carolina is seeking a supervisor for food service within a correctional environment. The role involves interviewing, hiring and supervising staff, planning meals, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance through inspections and records management.

The position requires HACCP or SERV Safe certification (or attainment within six months) and completion of SCDC training upon hire. A high school diploma and supervisory experience are required.

Qualifications

• Related supervisory experience in food service.
• Must be HACCP or SERV Safe manager certified or attain within six months of employment.
• Must successfully complete four weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Responsabilités

• Interviews, hires, evaluates and terminates food service employees.
• Organize, plan, and direct purchases, preparation and service of food and the maintenance of food service equipment and facilities.
• Make frequent inspections to ensure that standards are maintained.
• Supervise, instruct, and counsel employees.
• Coordinates and teaches correct techniques of food preparation for maximum palatability and appearance with minimum waste.
• Meet with health, fire, & OSHA inspections, responsible for ensuring that all required maintenance/ repair work is performed on cafeteria equipment.
• Supervises all personnel in the performance of their daily duties.
• Prepares cooks' worksheet in strict accordance with SCDC master menu and maintains records for a 5-year period.
