Job summary

Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. seeks an experienced registered nurse to provide on-site nursing care within correctional facilities. You will assess patients, administer prescribed treatments, and coordinate with practitioners to ensure timely orders and quality care.

The role requires an active state RN license, BLS certification, and excellent documentation skills. You will maintain infection control, patient confidentiality, and collaborate across services to support inmate health

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state where services are provided.
• BLS certification; hands-on training.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Knowledge of the RN scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurately assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients.
• Contact practitioner to obtain orders.
• Administer prescribed medication, treatments and other tasks as ordered by the practitioner.
• Provide emergency first aid care, when appropriate.
• Check and record vital signs, peak flows, blood glucose checks, weight, and other diagnostic tests on-site, when appropriate.
• Triage officer intake screenings for necessity and priority at sick call.
• Collaborate and coordinate multiple medical services for diagnosis and treatment, as directed by the practitioner.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control precautions as required.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA practices as required by government agencies.
