Job summary

Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. seeks a qualified RN to provide nursing care in a correctional facility. You will administer medications, monitor patients, and collaborate with practitioners to ensure timely orders and safe care.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS, and strong documentation skills, with duties including vital signs, triage, and patient education in a secure environment.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in the state where services are provided.
• BLS certification; hands-on training.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Knowledge of the RN scope of practice and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients.
• Contact practitioner to obtain orders.
• Administer prescribed medication, treatments and other tasks as ordered by the practitioner.
• Provide emergency first aid care, when appropriate.
• Check and record vital signs, peak flows, blood glucose checks, weight, and other diagnostic tests on-site.
• Triage officer intake screenings for necessity and priority at sick call.
• Record information in chronic clinic and outcome study documents as indicated.
• Report reactions to treatments and medications, as well as changes in the patients’ condition.
• Provide patient education on facility policies and discharge planning.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA practices.
