Job summary

Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. seeks an experienced registered nurse to deliver nursing care within a correctional setting. You will collaborate with practitioners, administer medications, and conduct essential monitoring on-site while adhering to facility policies and HIPAA standards.

Responsibilities include triage, documentation, patient education, and coordination of multiple medical services. This role may require coverage at multiple facilities and training of new hires.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in the state where services are provided.
• BLS certification and hands-on training.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Knowledge of the RN scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients.
• Contact practitioner to obtain orders.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Provide emergency first aid when needed.
• Record vital signs and test results on-site.
• Triage and screen for necessity and priority at sick call.
• Record data for CQI reporting and chronic care documents.
• Communicate patient information concisely and accurately.
• Coordinate multiple medical services for diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control.
• Prescribe and monitor pharmacology and dietary needs as appropriate.
• Educate patients on facility policies and discharge planning.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
• May cover shifts at multiple facilities and train new staff.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
