Job summary

Care New England is seeking a Core Lab Supervisor to ensure efficient lab operations under the Core Lab Manager. The role includes oversight, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement activities.

Responsibilities include managing lab staff, overseeing supplies and equipment, maintaining confidentiality, and performing bench work as needed to cover shortages or for teaching purposes. This leadership role emphasizes quality assurance and staff development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of clinical chemistry and/or clinical hematology experience.
• MLS certification by ASCP or equivalent.
• Knowledge of clinical lab operations, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated judgment, initiative, supervisory, teaching, administrative and technical skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication and collaboration.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard patient information.

Responsibilities

• Assists with scientific and technical oversight.
• Manages the administrative functions of the lab.
• Effectively manages the department staff.
• Maintains necessary usage and replacement of supplies and equipment.
• Maintains and promotes professional development of self and staff.
• Performs routine technical bench work for teaching or staff shortages.
• Preserves patient confidentiality.
• Performs other tasks assigned by the Core Lab Manager.
