Job summary

Confluence Health is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee the Core Laboratory operations, ensuring high-quality, compliant testing services. You will provide leadership to staff, coordinate staffing, and drive workflow efficiency under the Laboratory Manager’s guidance.

You will ensure timely reporting of results, quality control, and adherence to safety policies, while collaborating with providers, nursing, and other departments.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree Medical Laboratory Science.
• Four years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Certification of MLT (ASCP), MLS (ASCP), MT (ASCP), or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• 2 years lead or supervisory experience (desired).
• Knowledge of SoftLab and Epic (desired).

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate daily laboratory operations to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient testing services.
• Lead, mentor, and support laboratory personnel while ensuring compliance with regulatory, quality, and safety standards.
• Provide technical oversight, problem resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain the accuracy and integrity of patient testing.
• Monitor workflow, turnaround times, staffing levels, pending worklists, and specimen collection/processing activities.
• Ensure appropriate allocation of personnel and resources to maintain efficient operations.
• Escalate issues requiring MLS technical consultants, pathologist, or management involvement as appropriate.
• Oversee quality control, proficiency testing, instrument maintenance, and documentation activities.
• Promote accountability, teamwork, communication, and adherence to organizational standards.
