Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of clinical chemistry and/or clinical hematology experience.
• MLS certification by ASCP or equivalent.
• Knowledge of clinical lab operations, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated judgment, initiative, supervisory, teaching, administrative and technical skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication and collaboration.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard patient information.

Job Summary

The Core Lab Supervisor ensures the efficient operation of the laboratory under the direction of the Core Lab Manager. The Supervisor assists with operations, compliance with regulatory agencies and performance improvement activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assists with scientific and technical oversight.
• Manages the administrative functions of the lab.
• Effectively manages the department staff.
• Maintains necessary usage and replacement of supplies and equipment.
• Maintains and promotes professional development of self and staff.
• Performs routine technical bench work for teaching purposes or in the event of staff shortages.
• Preserves and protects patient rights to confidentiality.
• Performs other related tasks assigned by the Core Lab Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree Required; Master's Degree Preferred; Field of study: biological, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science.
• Minimum 3 to 5 Years of clinical chemistry and/or clinical hematology experience.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other nationally recognized certifying agency.
• Knowledge of clinical laboratory operations, quality assurance practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated judgment, exercise of initiative, supervisory, teaching, administrative and technical skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build collaborative working relationships.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive patient information.
