Job summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager with a Core Lab background to lead administrative and technical operations. The role oversees policy development, budgeting, QA, and regulatory compliance within the Core Lab and collaborates across hospital departments.

You will manage staffing, performance evaluations, training, and succession plans, while ensuring productive operations and adherence to safety standards in a high-quality laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Five years healthcare experience, four in a supervisory capacity preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; medical technology or science coursework meeting certifying agency requirements.
• Certification as MT/HTL/CT or equivalent (ASCP or other accepted).
• RN licensure acceptable for non-testing departments.
• Five years healthcare experience with supervisory capacity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs the administrative functions and customer service in area(s) of responsibility.
• Coordinates technical functions with supervisors, directors and other hospital departments.
• Develops policies/procedures, oversees training, administers budgets, and ensures QA and regulatory compliance.
• Ensures preparedness for inspections and maintains records and manuals.
• Plans and monitors capital equipment, operations and personnel budgets for the department.
• Reviews and updates job descriptions and manages retention and recruitment.
• Communicates with staff and leadership to improve operations and achieve objectives.
• Oversees vendor bids, cost analysis, and instrument evaluations.
