Job summary

BECU is seeking a Director of Technology – Core Banking to align technology strategy with business goals and drive delivery of enterprise-scale initiatives. You will guide modernization, cloud adoption, data and API strategies while leading engineering teams and ensuring agile execution.

You will collaborate with executives, product owners, and partners to define roadmaps, optimize investments, and deliver measurable business value across core banking platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of people leader experience.
• Minimum 8 years of information technology experience with large-scale platforms or program delivery.
• Domain experience with ERP and/or Infrastructure/Operations and/or financial products.
• Experience building technology platforms and delivering end-to-end delivery.
• Experience delivering large-scale enterprise programs with cross-team coordination.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of business processes, priorities, and challenges to provide strategic technology leadership.
• Lead technical requirements, engineering efforts, and delivery for core banking initiatives with strong Agile practices.
• Co-create roadmaps with business units to align technology and enterprise delivery plans.
• Identify innovative market solutions and lead development of business cases and project charters.
• Coach, mentor, and develop teams, fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
• Drive software engineering excellence with CI/CD, testing, and modern deployment practices.
• Oversee end-to-end delivery of enterprise core platform initiatives with program governance.
