Job summary

OSF HealthCare in Normal, IL is seeking a Patient Access Coordinator to serve as an escalation point across revenue cycle areas and to identify outside resources needed to support escalation. This hourly role focuses on maximizing patient reimbursement for the Health System.

The candidate will work 8:00am - 4:30pm and must have strong interpersonal, analytical, and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must complete revenue cycle training within 12 months.
• 1 year of experience in revenue cycle or medical setting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a dedicated escalation point for multiple areas in the revenue cycle.
• Determine appropriate outside resources to support escalation.
• Evaluate and secure financial resources for patients to maximize reimbursement.

Expected pay for this position is $21.72 - $25.55/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

This job is located in Normal, IL

8:00am - 4:30pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Access Coordinator will serve as a dedicated escalation point for multiple functional areas and determine the appropriate outside resources that are required to support escalation. This position has a significant understanding of the revenue cycle and the importance of evaluating and securing all appropriate financial resources for patients to maximize reimbursement to the Health System.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High School/GED
• Other Licenses/Certifications: Required to complete all role specific revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months
• Experience: 1 year of direct experience in a revenue cycle or medical setting
• Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Enrolled or completed course work in a healthcare related field through an accredited college or university
• Experience: 2 years in an office clerical setting or customer service environment
• Licensure/Certifications: HFMA CRCR certification
• Other skills/knowledge: Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, and modifiers. Knowledge of medical terminology
