Job summary

Cascade Senior Care Center is seeking a dedicated cook to prepare nourishing meals for residents and assist with menu planning and food quality. You will work alongside the Executive Chef to ensure meals meet portion control, safety, and presentation standards.

This part-time role features rotating weekends and some holidays with a day shift and no late nights. A high school diploma and at least 2 years of related food experience, preferably in a long-term care setting, are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• At least 2 years of related food experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility, with strong knowledge of food procedures.
• Experience in a Long Term Care facility is desirable.
• Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to delivering excellent, passionate, innovative care.
• Team player, dedicated to supporting team members and getting the job done.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals following all necessary guidelines and regulations.
• Coordinate food production to align with meal serving times ensuring quality, temperature, and appearance.
• Assist with tray line setup and plate assembly.
• Assist with daily kitchen cleaning requirements.
• Promote hospitality and excellent customer service in daily interactions with guests and families.

Our Cooks prepare amazing and nourishing meals for our guests and ensure the highest quality standards of food service and the best culinary experience is provided at all times. They work closely with the Executive Chef to create and review menus, prepare food, and ensure the meals are prepared in accordance with established portion control procedures, sanitary regulations, and established policies and procedures.
