Job summary

JIA at MGM Resorts in Biloxi is seeking a cook to join a high-volume, four-diamond Asian Fusion kitchen. You will craft intricately plated dishes, maintain kitchen standards, and contribute to an energetic guest experience in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 18+ years old with 2+ years of line cook experience and proficiency across fry, sauté, and grill stations. Full-time swing shift with scheduled hours supports a dynamic hospitality team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and plate menu items following recipes and standards.

• Handle seafood prep and oyster shucking as needed.

As a Cook at Jia, you will bring skill and speed to one of the most dynamic kitchens on property. Our four-diamond Asian Fusion restaurant is known for bold flavors, elegant presentation, and unforgettable guest experiences. You will be at the heart of it all. From intricately plated dishes to fast-paced service, your role helps bring the menu to life. This is a high-volume, high-standard kitchen where every plate tells a story. THE STARTING RATE:

$18.95 an hour

THE SCHEDULE:

Swing Shift | Full Time

1:00pm (earliest) - 11:00pm (lastest) ( Scheduled in 8-hour shifts)

Off: Wednesday & Thursday

Must be open and flexible to work outside of the primary schedule based on the business needs

JIA Overview

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Show your culinary passion by crafting various menu items while following set recipes and standards.
• Consistently maintain proper stocking, cleanliness, and sanitation of back-of-house areas.
• Ensure guest safety by following proper food handling procedures.
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of fine dining culinary techniques
• Practice seafood handling skills and shuck oysters as needed

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Meets the minimum age requirement of 18+ years of age
• Exhibits 2+ years of culinary experience in a line cook setting preferably
• Demonstrates experience on fry, sauté, grill, and other stations around the kitchen
